SIMATIC S7-200 EM 241 is a modem communication module enabling remote access to S7-200 PLCs via telephone line. This module supports remote programming, diagnostics, and SMS text messaging for alarm notifications. The EM 241 was discontinued in October 2017. Still widely used in remote pumping stations, water treatment plants, and distributed automation systems where internet connectivity is unavailable.
